I’ve spent my entire career focused on one thing: helping people turn their savings into a sustainable retirement income.
Building wealth and turning that wealth into retirement income are two very different problems. Once you’re approaching retirement, the questions change.
• How much can you actually spend?
• When should you claim Social Security?
• Which accounts should you withdraw from first?
• How can you reduce taxes over the course of retirement?
• What happens if the market drops early in retirement?
• How do you know your plan can support the lifestyle you want without taking unnecessary risk?
These are the questions I help clients answer.
I founded Bugle Valley Retirement Income Planning to work with individuals and couples who are approaching or already in retirement and want a clear strategy for turning their savings into income. My clients are typically within 5–10 years of retirement and have $1 million to $10 million in investable assets.
My approach brings together the pieces that matter most in retirement: investments, taxes, Social Security, healthcare, and to maximize your lifestyle. The goal is to build a plan around the life you actually want to live.
I also believe the way you pay for financial advice matters. I use a flat-fee model because I don’t think the cost of advice should automatically increase simply because your portfolio gets larger. You should know what you’re paying and what you’re getting in return.
Retirement planning shouldn't be about finding a single “safe withdrawal rate” or following a generic rule of thumb. It should be about understanding your options, making informed tradeoffs, and building a plan that can adapt as your retirement unfolds.
